Progressive Railroading Webcast to outline stimulus act's impacts on the rail industry
Progressive Railroading Webcast to outline stimulus act's impacts on the rail industry

What impact will the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 have on the high-speed, transit- and freight-rail industries? Progressive Railroading is holding a free Webcast later this month to offer answers to that question.

To be held April 22 at 1 p.m. (EDT), “The Stimulus’ Impact on Freight Rail, Rail Transit and the High-Speed Passenger-Rail Industries” will provide an in-depth look at the legislation and opportunities for railroads, transit systems, shippers, contractors, suppliers and the rail industry in general.

The Webcast will detail how rail funding was developed for the stimulus package; the types of funding available to transit and freight carriers; who’s eligible for stimulus funds; timelines for funding distribution; and how stimulus funding relates to other transportation legislation.

The 75-minute Webcast will be presented by Chuck Baker, president of the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association, and moderated by Progressive Railroading Editor Pat Foran. The online event is sponsored by Ansaldo STS, Colo Railroad Builders, Danella Rental Systems Inc. and Herzog Contracting Corp.
