TRAINS to host town hall on Amtrak
Print article E-mail article to a friend

WAUKESHA, Wis. — TRAINS will host a town hall meeting March 6 in Chicago in an effort to generate discussion about Amtrak and its policies. Amtrak President Joseph Boardman and board chair Tom Carper will be present to discuss the future of the passenger train, the railroad's photo policy, and other issues.

"My hope is that this will be a dialogue with those people who are interested in Amtrak and seeing an upgraded and improved Amtrak," Boardman says. "If we have a good engagement of the people there and a good exchange of views, then it will be a success."

The meeting will be the first of its kind for Amtrak, and TRAINS is a co-sponsor.

The event will be held at the Merchandise Mart Conference Center in downtown Chicago. Attendance will be limited to 300 pre-registered guests. If you'd like to be among the crowd, visit www.TrainsMag.com/amtrak, or call 800-533-6644, extension 661. A block of hotel rooms is available at a discount rate at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, and Amtrak has offered a discount for passengers traveling to the event between March 3-9, with code X79A-978.
